Cryptid Witness Sketch Looks Exactly Like Witness's Dog Wearing a Hat
The forensic artist reports that the witness described a 'tall figure with pointy ears, a long snout, and kind eyes,' which the artist concedes 'could be a lot of things.'

A forensic sketch produced from an eyewitness account of an alleged cryptid sighting near Marfa, Texas, bears what multiple observers have described as 'an uncanny resemblance' to the witness's own German shepherd, Brutus, wearing a cowboy hat.
The sketch, produced by forensic artist Linda Composite based on a three-hour interview with witness Gary Glimpse, depicts a creature approximately six feet tall with pointed ears, an elongated snout, a heavy coat of fur, and what Glimpse described as 'intelligent, warm, brown eyes.'
'It does look a bit like a dog,' Composite acknowledged. 'But I draw what the witness describes. He described something tall, furred, with pointed ears and a long face. That's what I drew.'
The resemblance to Brutus was first noticed by Glimpse's neighbor, who saw the sketch posted on a local cryptid research group's website and commented: 'That's Gary's dog.'
'That is NOT my dog,' Glimpse responded. 'Brutus is three feet tall. This creature was six feet tall. Brutus doesn't walk on two legs. This creature walked on two legs. And Brutus doesn't wear a hat.'
Investigators noted that the creature in the sketch does appear to be wearing a hat, or 'a hat-like cranial protrusion.' Glimpse maintains it was 'some kind of crest or horn structure,' which Composite rendered based on his description of 'like a cowboy hat, but natural.'
Brutus, when presented with the sketch by this reporter, tilted his head to one side and wagged his tail.
'He does that with everything,' Glimpse said. 'Don't read into it.'
The sketch has been distributed to other cryptid research groups, three of which have reported that it 'matches a previously documented entity,' and two of which have asked whether the entity is available for adoption.
